Welcome 2012 Give Away!!

I have been wanting to have a Give Away for a long time. I am so very grateful for all of you who visit my blog and extra thank full to those of you who leave comments and tell me that you have stopped by. It really means a lot to me that you take some of your time to say hello!!!!
Now that Christmas is over I am again rearranging things in my studio, in my never ending search fro efficient storage solutions for my methods of creating. Today the stamp wall is coming down with the narrow little stamp holding shelves being replaced by big functional hand me down wooden shelves from Tom's mother's kitchen reno. I have boxed and categorized the stamps that I wish to keep, in clear plastic bins. now all we have to do is locate the brackets that hold up the shelves. Then we will get to installation of the "new" old shelves and much more storage space!!!

In my efforts to FOCUS and SHARE ( my two words for 2012) this year, I plan to Focus on my textile collage art and share all that I learned about other media thru teaching classes and tutorials on my blog.

As big THANK YOU'S to all of my wonderful readers I am offering two small tokens of my appreciation.

A collection of my Sun Printed Cotton Fabrics.

#2 A Great Big Handful of my hand crafted Fabric/Paper resin coated beads in a range of sizes.

All that you have to do is leave a comment for me here, telling me which gift you would prefer and then share with me your words for 2012. I am always so interested to hear what everyone has chosen for their words to live by for the coming year. If you post to Facebook with a link to this giveaway, be sure to let me know as I will enter your name into the drawing TWICE.
I will draw a name from each pool (so don't forget to leave me your choice- beads or fabric) at 6pm EST on January 1, 2012!!
I hope that everyone had a very Happy Holiday Season and that 2012 brings Peace Sanity and Compassion back into the world and that you are all able to climb to new creative heights!!!
Happy NEW YEAR!!!

  1. How very generous of you! Both choices are lovely, but I would love that fabric for my journals! My words to live by for 2012? TRY, DO, BE INSPIRED and CREATE as only I can. I want to *try* new techniques, *do* things I've been telling myself I'd do, *be inspired* by the beautiful things I see, and then *create* as only I can (and stop comparing my work with others and thereby thinking my work falls short ... know what I mean?)

  2. Hey Elizabeth!
Such a wonderful giveaway - and I am so impressed with your organizational skills.
Focus is an ongoing word for me, and my new word for 2012 is Understanding.
I would be happy with either of your gifts, but most especially your wonderful beads.
I am going to FB right now to link to your post.

    xo

p.s. my word verification is 'swimming' - a bit cool for that today, don't you think? LOL

  4. Oh, my gosh, what a difficult choice!! :) Your fabrics are gorgeous (and I _love_ lacy patterns) ... but the beads are wonderfully colorful and shiny - bet they'd be light and lively to wear. (hmm)

Beads, I think - much as I love the fabrics, those beads would make glorious embellishments for my little art quilts.

    :) Linda

  8. Elizabeth, you are so generous to share you creative journey and then top it off with a give away is amazing. The choices are beautiful and I am going to flip a coin, as I really love them both. Heads=fabric! My words for 2012 will be explore freely. So often I have let the critic guide my work. I plan to tame the critic and explore areas like watercolor, surface design, and keeping a sketchbook with a heart that is open to possibilities. Thank you for writing such an inspiring blog and wishing you much joy and creative fun in 2012.

  14. The fabrics are amazing, but if I won, I would choose the beards, because they are so completely different than anything I've ever made or used in my work.

What a great, very generous giveaway!

  15. Oh Gosh - As a lace maker and a beader such a decision! The fabric's lacy pattern is calling me and yet those beads......eenie meenie minie mo....

And I love your words, sometimes there is so much more in a word than just saying it. Trying to actually DO IT is the hard part!
I like the word PEACE, to find a little bit of peace in every day with nature, friends, the dog, family, whatever it takes to give me a moment of true peace in each day! Maybe even a nap, you know?? Heheheh! Maybe a glass of wine, or some silent meditation or listening to the lake, or ......
    that is my word! Peace!

  17. Both are lovely give-aways. I would probably choose your gorgeous fabric. I had not thought of a word yet, but we might be putting our house on the market this year, so the word will be something like GLEAN or PURGE!

  18. Wow what beautful sun prints and such lovely resin beads. How generous of you. I love your blog and your work is so very fine.

  19. Beads, please!!! They are just fabulous and the opportunities are endless. My words for 2012 are PURGE and RELAX. Purging both my mental "garbage" and my material "garbage", with relaxing being (hopefully) the outcome of the purge! I need to take in so much less so that I can give out more.

  20. Oh gosh such a hard choice! I would choose the gorgeous fabric though! I had focus as my word in 2011. For 2012 I think I will do a word a month.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Maybe my word should be 'decision' ~ lol. This is a tough one as both your beads and your fabric are wonderful. Since I have more beads and not so much fabric (and because yours is gorgeous!), your fabric is my choice. My word for 2012 is 'explore'. Then again, maybe it should be 'win' :-)

  22. What a nice gesture, Elizabeth. I enjoy reading your posts as you are always up to something new and interesting. If my name is selected, I would love the beads. They would look great in some 2012 art quilts.

  23. I love those beads. Last year my word for 2011 was Playfulness. This year I have chosen the word Mystery. I want to be more curious. I also want to Celebrate more in life. Creating more Rituals.

    Have a wonderful new year.

  24. Oooo!~
Your sun printed cotton fabrics are to die for! They are so pretty...please put my name down for the fabrics if I win.
My goal for 2012 is to get more organized, make more dolls and begin a fabric journal (I love Teesha Moore's video on her blog on making quilted fabric journals! Scream!) I want to take each day as it comes, and my word for 2012 is relax and also to help others more.
Thank you for the opportunity to share our thoughts~
May you have a prosperous New Year!

  25. I came across your blog quite by accident but loved your smile and your work so much that I bookmarked you , My words for this year are GENTLENESS and CREATIVITY. I am 76 and have only just started to really explore my creative side and loving it. So much to learn and thanks to the inspiration of blogs like yours, I am learning and having lots of fun. I feel like I am playing. Thank you for sharing and I would love a chance to win some of your fabric. May 2012 be the best for you, Serafina

  26. Oooh it's hard to pick Elizabeth, they are both such beautiful gifts...but I think I will go for the fabrics (as textiles play such a huge part in my art).
I think my words for 2012 will be self discipline...I'm a procrastinator and I need to be more disciplined with my time and how I use it.
It's been lovely visiting your blog throughout the year. Looking forward to seeing what 2012 holds.

Wishing you and your family health, happiness, love and prosperity for 2012.
