Collaborative Jewlery For the Patron's Show

Sea Foam Jewels (working title) will be the Expressions of Elizabeth/Brier Design contribution tot he upcoming Patron's Show at Liberty Town Art Galleries coming up on May 6. MAny of Fredericksburg's wonderful artists have donated works to this show which will be the major fundraiser for the year. Any interested customer is invited to attend, purchase a ticket and after the month of May, leave Liberty Town with an incredible piece of artwork. There will be tickets for sale beginning on May 6 and there will only be as many tickets as there are pieces of Art. After all tickets are sold, the names of the ticket holders will be drawn from a hat and then that ticket holder will have their choice of artworks. If last year's event is any indicator, the evening will be an amazing and exciting show for all!!
Leslie Brier and I collaborated to create this wonderful jewelry ensemble. I created the free form beadwork bracelet, below.

Leslie Brier of Brier Design created the Vintage Silver salt shaker pendant necklace, featuring a Green Girl sterling silver mermaid charm,

and the silver shell earrings.

We feel that this set will offer all sorts of verstility for the patron. It can be worn as a complete set, as individual elements or it could be split up and components given as gifts.

Seed Sower- A Wonderful New Family Member

I am so very pleased to introduce you to the latest addition to my growing little art collection. Her name is Seed Sower. (Relax, she is not a new dog or, god forbid, a Bundle of Joy!!!!) She is one of the latest creations of my good friend, art gal pal extordinaire, Leslie Brier, of Brier Design. As soon as I saw the seed bag ground (the inspiration for this piece) the wonderful colors, the adorable sweet little Penny Doll, the wonderful vintage quilted background all watched over by the precious Red Bakelite Bird buttons, I knew that I would somehow, someway arrange to own this piece!! Of course the fact that it was the creation of my wonderful friend Leslie, was simply frosting on the cupcake!!!




Leslie based this piece on this wonderful seed bag that she found along with an amazing hand held Vintage Spinning Seed Spreader on one of her frequent junking adventures. ( The spreader itself became a vehicle for one of her fabulous doll assemblages that you can see here!)

Leslie has brilliantly showcased and at the same time framed her mixed media piece in a silver plated baking dish holder!!!

I just love it all!!!

Leslie Brier Creates Christmas Magic!

I must introduce you to the wonderfully talented Assemblage and Mixed Media Artist Leslie Brier!! Her wonderful work is gracing the window at University Cafe on William's Street in Old Town Fredericksburg for the month of December.

Leslie is a bargain hunter and THrift store shopping queen! Each of her assemblages is created using all sorts of wonderful bits and pieces, everything from old travel irons, parts of cheese graters and vintage seed spreaders. She has a special love for vintage composite Baby Dolls that she ressurects and honors as the focal points of her wonderfully whimsical constructions. You must click on the pictures to enarge them to see all of the wonderful details.

The cental Assemblage in the above picture was created from a body of a vintage Electrolux vaccum!!

Here "To THe REscue" is created using a roller skate, cheese grater parts, and verious metal bits. Did you see the little dalmation puppy safely tucked in behind the driver???? Marvelous!!! ISn't it?????
