Floral Garden Fantasy!

This Floral Garden Fantasy hand stitched beaded cuff bracelet has just returned from a National Fine Crafts Show.
After all of the embellished bead work the cuff measures approximately 2.5 inches and is created over a very flexible and malleable brass cuff blank.
The design is stitched on Ultra Suede and the cuff is also lined with Ultra Suede.

I have just listed this piece of unique Wearable art in my Etsy shop and you can find out about all of the details here.
Many ask me how I can keep creating these pieces.  The simple answer is because beading makes me happy!! This piece especially makes me smile!

All About the BEADS!!

This week has been a very beady week!! I created this necklace using my fabric/paper beads that I coated with a layer of ice resin- love how this resin works in this sort of application!
I used the cutest little bronze colored birds as accent pieces along with several vintage chandelier prisms. This is for me to wear as advertising.
I finished my first wire work Ocean Treasures cuff and i love this technique!!! It goes together much more quickly than the bead embroidered cuff and once the beads are on the piece is finished!! the wonderful sand dollar bead in the center of this picture, was made especially for me by StargirlJoolz- you can see all of the beads that she creates here!

And this glorious bead was made by Juls at Studiojuls! I met both of these wonderful artists during the Bead Soup Challenge that I participated in recently!!

This is Flower Power, my latest beaded cuff! It has just been accepted into a national Show titled Fine Crafts. The show runs for the months of December and January at the Fredericksburg Center for teh Creative Arts.
I didn't use a zipper in this one- just lots and lots of flowers and leaves and vintage clip earrings that had flower motifs.
This is my Black and White Cuff that was recently in a National Show titled Texture and Pattern.
This cuff was not an easy one for me as It was so devoid of color! I just had to add the three red hearts to add a bit of pop!!
This week looks a bit less beady! I am on to work on a commission - a fabric paper journal for a Christmas gift. No doubt I will have to fit in a few beads somewhere!!!

More Beadwork

I have completed three more beaded zipper cuffs! Two will be for sale on my Etsy site SOON and the third, the bottom one in the above picture, is on it's way to Tanzania for my neice, Kate's 13th Birthday!! Happy Birthday Kate, a bit late but worth the wait, I hope!!!!
The Turquoise/Green cuff has been beaded for a long time but now the lining has been completed. The Orange and Pink cuff was finished just recently and the cuff for Kate was completed today and in record time!!

I love the way the cuffs look all stacked together! But then I do LOVE COLOR!!!!!

Here is a shot of Kate's cuff beofre I stitched it to the cuff. This is the best way to photograph all of the beadwork.

Once on the cuff, here is one end,

and here is the other end. The two blue donut beads are made in Africa from recycled bottles. kate and her Dad brought those beads to me last year! I also used quite a few pearls on this cuff. The green disk bead with the blue swirls is a bead that I made form polymer clay. When Kate vivisted this year and I showed her my Ocean Cuff, she could hardly put it down! I think that she will be quite pleased!!

Here is the middle section.

If you want to see even more detail you can left click on each shot for a close up view!!

I will announce the posting of the Pink/Orange Cuff and the Turquoise /Green cuff, to my Etsy Store ,in about a week. I will be away from my computer for about a week and will attend to business as soon as I return!!!
