Oh, LUCKY ME !!

I have made so many many wonderful friends in blogland!! I can't begin to express how these realtionships have enhanced my life and my art experience. Recently I have really gotten to know Julie. You must got to visit Julie's blog to see all of her wonderful textile work. I assure you that you will enjoy your trip!! Julie has hosted a Give Away on her blog and lo and behold , I was the lucky winner!! And I do mean Lucky!!! Julie has sent me this wonderful Journal Quilt! Julie lives in England, on the coast, and loves the sea and all of it's wonderful gifts and moods, as much as I do.

The title of this wonderful quilt is "Across St. Ives Bay". Julie has captured the feel of a water view from the edge of the sea to the far distant horizon. I LOVE this piece and I will cherish it always! Julie, thank you so very much for honoring my home with your lovely quilt!!!!
Julie also included a wonderful note written on the back of a fabulously beautiful piece of hand made paper! I fully intend to get the details of how she created this piece as it is almost a s wonderufl as her quilt!!

I am not sure , but I think that this piece might have been a launch point for her journal quilt. Rest assured that I WILL find out!! Isn't this amazing?? She has included all sorts of texture in this piece. There are little garins at the bottom under the yellow ink/paint(?) and fiberous bits under the blue layers. (click on the photo to enlarge) I think that I am going to frame this piece to hang alongside the quilt!!!
As if these two wonderful art pieces were not enough, Julie added some wonderful bits and pieces for some creative projects!
You really were far too good to me Julie! I feel so loved!!
Thank you so much, my friend!!

Oh you are very lucky to have received such a beautiful quilt. It does look like an ocean theme. How nice of Julie to include the fun laces. Thank you for visiting my blog and commenting. I would show you a picture of the curtain but the beads are long gone to the thrift store donations. Who knew? Keep creating...
